Why is getting traffic so hard? Why can’t I just post to my blog and do organic postings on my Facebook page to get more traffic?
It’s a very straightforward question and although competition on the net is only getting more fierce you can still make a little bit of money online by simply posting to your blog and organically posting on your Facebook page.
It depends on your niche of course and you have to be very patient but over time people will find you if you have enough content on your blog. If you are happy with making a small amount of money and let’s be honest it will be a very small amount of money, then you don’t need to do any more. You have made it.
I don’t imagine there would be too many people like that online these days. I would imagine that most people want to make a living if they are going to go through all the trouble of building a blog or a website or both. If that is the case for you then there is nothing else for it, you have to do paid promotion.
I guess the question is am I going to get a return on my money if I advertise?
If I am being honest no one can guarantee that you will make money online if you spend money on promotions. But one thing is for sure, you can’t make money without traffic and the one thing that you can guarantee with advertising if it is done the right way is traffic. Lots of traffic.
The fact is that the single easiest way to get more traffic is through paid promotion.
Take Facebook promotion, for example, done the right way you can expect up to 3.5 times more traffic.
These are not unrealistic numbers but they do depend on the size of your advertising budget. However, even if you were to spend $1 a day you can have a significant effect on your traffic.

You can see that even with a responsive niche the differences in the numbers are significant.
But of course, you do have to do it the right way. It’s one thing to get the traffic, it is quite another to capitalise on that traffic. But that is another topic.
