Inclusive Water Safety Learning for Children with Autism, Sensory, Motor Differences & All Abilities
The All Abilities Adaptive Water Safety Activity Book, developed by Swim Angelfish, teaches water safety through interactive activities, visual supports, and discussions.
Designed with inclusivity at its core, the book supports children with diverse abilities, learning styles, and developmental needs. It is especially helpful for children with autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, motor challenges, and other learning differences.
Parents, teachers, therapists, and aquatic professionals can use these activities to teach and reinforce important water safety skills. The flexible approach encourages participation, builds confidence, and helps children develop safer behaviours around water environments.
The lessons are based on the Swim Angelfish Adaptive Water Safety Toolkit, a free resource available through SwimAngelfish.com. Together, the activity book and toolkit create a practical system for developing stronger water safety knowledge and skills.
Created by Swim Angelfish co-founders Ailene Tisser, PT, and Cindy Freedman, OTR/L, this resource reflects their commitment. Their mission focuses on water safety education, swimmer confidence, and creating inclusive aquatic opportunities for every child.
